TEHRAN - President Kais Saied of Tunisia has made a historic visit to Tehran, marking the first time a Tunisian leader has visited the country.
The unexpected trip was prompted by President Saied's desire to pay tribute to the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash in northwestern Iran on Sunday.
President Said had met with his Iranian counterpart on the sidelines of multiple summits, during which the two agreed to expand cooperation and strengthen ties between Iran and Tunisia.
